Kathie, the founder of Carnahan Lyndrup LLC, has a deep-rooted and well-established reputation of helping students through the admission and placement process.
Originally based in the New Orleans area, Kathie’s consulting practice now assists students nationally and internationally. Her specialties include college bound students and boarding school applicants.
Staying current with trending admissions information, Kathie spends about 20% of her professional time attending national and international conferences, visiting school campuses, and meeting with admission officers. She also enjoys reconnecting with former students at the colleges they have chosen to attend.
At national and regional conferences, Kathie has made presentations regarding admissions-related topics and has written articles for national print and online publications. Kathie is a Commissioner of the Board of the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners (AICEP), and is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC), Small Boarding School Association (SBSA), and Secondary School Admission Test Board (SSATB).
Kathie earned the designation of Certified Educational Consultant (C.E.P.) and is one of a small, select group of educational consultants across the country and internationally that has qualified for this distinctive honor.
Carrie began her professional career in the field of college admissions at the College of Charleston. As Director of Freshman Admissions, Carrie’s duties included counseling prospective students and parents in providing insight on the admission process and making final admission decisions for over 5,000 freshman applicants each year.
Moving with her family to Haddon Heights, New Jersey for four years afforded Carrie the opportunity to work for Princeton University as an application reader. Returning home with her family to Charleston, Carrie joined Carnahan & Associates LLC. Her background in real "behind the scenes" college admissions brings a unique advantage to Carnahan Lyndrup LLC. This is a special professional edge that few educational consulting practices can offer clients.
As an independent educational consultant, initially Carrie advised college-bound students in the Greater New Orleans area. As her expert reputation grew, so did her range of students. Similar to Kathie's growth in clientele, Carrie is engaged by families across the country from Alaska to New Jersey. Carrie guides students who are interested in domestic and international university placement.
In June 2015, Carrie became a full partner with the practice and the business name reflects this change now as Carnahan Lyndrup, LLC.
